Role overview

Conducts independent, risk-based operational audits under the Internal Audit Charter, methodology, and IIA Standards (IPPF).

Assesses governance, risk management, controls, and compliance across hubs, logistics, fleet, gateways, customer service, cash/COD, and technology systems.

Audit planning and operational reviews

  • Research operational areas, map processes and risks, join pre-audit meetings, draft risk-and-control matrices, and define sampling strategies.
  • Audit logistics from booking and sorting through linehaul, delivery, proof of delivery, and returns; check custody, scans, timestamps, and seals.
  • Review staffing, route and vehicle use, fleet maintenance, facility costs, and outsourced courier compliance with contracts and SLAs.
  • Test courier debriefs, COD collection and reconciliation, billing accuracy, and system inputs to prevent loss or revenue leakage.
  • Review facility and fleet security, CCTV, safety protocols, regulatory permits, and incident escalation.

Testing, reporting, and follow-up

  • Use Excel, Power BI, or analytical software to test complete data populations, identify anomalies or overrides, and assess operational system integrity.
  • Execute testing, maintain evidence-backed working papers, and increase sample sizes when control failures are identified.
  • Draft clear observations, establish root causes, assign risk ratings, and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Verify management closure evidence and test actions before signing off resolved findings.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in internal auditing, accounting, finance, supply chain, logistics, business, or engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in internal audit, operational audit, risk, or compliance.
  • Logistics, transport, supply chain, or e-commerce experience is strongly preferred.

Certifications and skills

  • CIA (or in progress), CFE, CRMA, CPA/ACCA, or ISO Lead Auditor certification is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel; Power BI, SQL, or audit management software experience is advantageous.
  • Key competencies include professional scepticism, evidence-based judgment, root-cause analysis, concise report writing, and stakeholder communication.

Independence and decision rights

Disclose conflicts of interest or past operational roles and remain objective.

Immediately escalate suspected fraud, theft, deliberate control bypass, major shipment or cash loss, and severe safety or regulatory breaches.

Do not conduct formal fraud or misconduct investigations unless assigned under the formal investigation procedure.

May handle routine audit execution, sampling, evidence requests, walkthrough scheduling, and initial working-paper drafts; certain scope changes, final reports, disclosures, and closures require approval.

Must not decide operational policy, process ownership, control design or operation, risk acceptance, vendor selection, or disciplinary actions.

Performance indicators

KPIs cover audit delivery, working-paper quality, evidence-backed findings, reporting timeliness, escalation of critical risks, action follow-up, analytics use, and annual professional development.
