Job Purpose
The Procurement Intern will support the Procurement team in daily operational, administrative, and coordination activities.
The role provides hands-on exposure to procurement processes, supplier coordination, documentation management, and market research while contributing to the efficient delivery of procurement operations and compliance with company procedures.
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties
- Support the Procurement team in day-to-day operational and administrative activities.
- Assist in preparing purchase requests, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to follow up on quotations, deliveries, and documentation requirements.
- Support supplier onboarding and maintain accurate vendor records and databases.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking on suppliers, products, and pricing trends.
- Assist in tracking procurement activities, delivery schedules, and order status updates.
- Organize and maintain procurement files, contracts, and related documentation.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and procurement summaries.
- Participate in meetings with suppliers and internal departments when required.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and approval processes.
- Provide general administrative support to the Procurement team as needed.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree student or recent graduate in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Internship or academic exposure within operations, procurement, or supply chain is preferred.
Competencies
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work with data and reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
