Role overview

The Integration Practice Leader is the subject matter authority for enterprise integration, APIs and event-driven architecture.

The role owns strategy, go-to-market, presales and delivery excellence for GBM’s IBM-based Integration practice.

The mandate is to grow the integration business across the GCC and position GBM as a leading IBM integration partner for hybrid-cloud modernization.

The role works across business strategy, architecture and delivery to help clients move to secure, governed and AI-ready integration platforms.

Reports to the Head of Software Solutions & Practices; based at GBM headquarters in Dubai with regional travel.

Practice strategy and client advisory

  • Own practice strategy, offerings, revenue targets and roadmap across API management, application integration, messaging, event streaming, B2B/managed file transfer and hybrid integration.
  • Advise strategic accounts and shape integration and API strategies, target architectures and modernization roadmaps.
  • Lead presales solution architecture, sizing, proposals, RFP responses and executive presentations.
  • Drive modernization from legacy ESB and middleware to containerized, cloud-native and hybrid integration platforms.

Technology and AI focus

  • Maintain expertise in IBM webMethods Hybrid Integration, API Connect, App Connect Enterprise, IBM MQ, Event Streams, Event Automation, DataPower Gateway, Aspera and Cloud Pak for Integration on Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Expose enterprise systems as governed APIs and tools for AI agents, and apply AI-assisted integration capabilities.

Partnership and market development

  • Own IBM partnership activities, including joint account planning, enablement, certifications, partner programmes and co-selling with IBM and Red Hat teams.
  • Contribute thought leadership content, industry events, client workshops and proof-of-concepts to accelerate pipeline and shorten sales cycles.

Required experience

  • 12+ years in enterprise technology, including at least 7 years specializing in integration, middleware and API platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise with IBM webMethods, API Connect, App Connect Enterprise, IBM MQ, Event Streams (Kafka) and DataPower; Cloud Pak for Integration experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of API-led and event-driven architectures, microservices and API governance.
  • Track record growing an integration business, building pipeline, closing large deals and delivering complex, multi-year integration programmes.
  • Experience delivering integration solutions in banking, government, telecoms or energy sectors in the GCC region.
  • IBM integration certifications are highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication and storytelling skills for connecting architecture to business outcomes for executives.
