School IT Administrator
Reports to: Head of IT
Position Overview
Ambassador International School - Mankhool are seeking a versatile School IT Administrator to join our IT team reporting to the Head of IT.
The IT administrator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and integrity of our IT systems, contributing significantly to our school's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line support to staff and students for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Monitor and respond to help desk tickets in a timely manner.
- Escalate complex cases to the Senior IT Administrator when required.
- Assist in maintaining LAN/WAN networks, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Perform routine system monitoring and updates.
- Create and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Support onboarding/offboarding processes for staff and students.
- Maintain secure access and authentication systems.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot school applications.
- Assist in integrating digital learning tools into classroom use.
- Maintain desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, and smartboards.
- Conduct regular audits of IT equipment and keep inventory updated.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs and warranty claims.
- Provide technical setup and support for school events, assemblies, and conferences.
- Maintain AV equipment and ensure reliable performance.
- Support routine data backup procedures and monitoring.
- Apply software updates and security patches.
- Assist with enforcing IT and data protection policies.
- Provide basic IT training and guidance to staff and students.
- Promote good practice in IT security and safe technology use.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in IT support or administration.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
- Familiarity with cloud services (Google Workspace/Microsoft 365).
- Experience in school IT environments preferred.
- Professional certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, CompTIA) are desirable.
- Ambassador International School - Mankhool is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its students and staff.
- A UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check is a pre-requisite for all appointments.
