Regional leadership role overseeing international freight, customs compliance, and inbound logistics across the Middle East, Africa, and India.
Manage the inbound supply chain from overseas factories to regional warehouses and distribution centres.
Key responsibilities
- Manage inbound logistics from factory collection and shipment coordination through customs clearance to warehouse delivery.
- Oversee freight-forwarding operations across multiple MEAI markets.
- Develop freight strategies covering routes, transport modes, transit times, and costs.
- Ensure customs, import/export, Free Trade Agreement, and India BIS certification compliance.
- Manage freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and 3PL providers.
- Coordinate with suppliers, factories, planning teams, and warehouses to ensure timely product availability.
- Identify consolidation, cost-reduction, and process-improvement opportunities.
- Maintain logistics SOPs, compliance documentation, reporting, and operational KPIs.
- Lead and develop the regional inbound supply chain team.
Requirements
- At least six years of relevant experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, inbound supply chain, or import/export management.
- Strong freight-forwarding background, including air and ocean freight, international shipping, and customs clearance.
- Knowledge of India BIS certification and import compliance is mandatory.
- Experience managing freight operations across multiple countries; MEAI experience is preferred.
- Experience managing inbound logistics from factories or suppliers to warehouses and distribution centres.
- Understanding of customs regulations, trade compliance, Incoterms, and international shipping documentation.
- Experience negotiating with freight forwarders, managing 3PL providers, and optimizing freight costs.
- Previous experience managing teams and regional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Retail, footwear, sportswear, fashion, apparel, or FMCG experience is advantageous.
