HVAC Maintenance Specialist

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Perform routine HVAC inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related faults; repair or replace defective components and system parts.
• Monitor performance, test equipment against specifications, and identify efficiency and reliability improvements.
• Record inspections, maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance; respond to breakdowns and maintenance requests.
• Inspect air handling units, ventilation systems, cooling equipment, and related components.
• Coordinate work with facilities teams, contractors, and service providers; maintain tools, equipment, and spare-parts inventories.
• Follow safety, maintenance, and environmental requirements; recommend upgrades and corrective actions to reduce downtime.

Requirements

• A diploma, technical certificate, or vocational qualification in HVAC, refrigeration and air conditioning, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• HVAC maintenance, equipment servicing, or facilities maintenance experience is advantageous.
• Good understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration principles, ventilation equipment, and mechanical components.
• Ability to diagnose faults and perform routine maintenance and repairs; familiarity with preventive maintenance and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and proper handling of tools and equipment.
• Refrigerant-handling or electrical-work licenses or certifications are advantageous and may be required for specific duties.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time-management skills; ability to work independently and with facilities and engineering teams.
