About This Role
Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience as HSE Officer in shipyard or marine environment
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Safety / Engineering or related field
- NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent safety certification
- Knowledge of shipyard hazards, marine safety, and HSE regulations
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work onboard vessels and in yard conditions
Key Duties
- Implement and monitor HSE policies and shipyard safety rules
- Conduct daily safety inspections onboard vessels and yard areas
- Monitor high-risk activities and ensure permit-to-work compliance
- Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and recommend corrective actions
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and safety training
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports
- Ensure proper use of PPE and firefighting equipment
- Stop unsafe work and report safety violations
