The Host/Hostess welcomes restaurant guests and supports dining-room service and setup.
The position is full time, non-management, and not remote.
Guest reception and seating
- Welcome guests, determine party size, and guide guests through dining areas.
- Seat guests at clean, available tables and provide assistance as needed.
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, and cutlery, including layouts for groups with special needs.
Dining area and service
- Ensure each guest has appropriate clean cutlery, a napkin, and other standard place-setting items.
- Check menus for cleanliness, completeness, and current information.
- Keep work areas clean throughout the day and monitor seating, service, safety, and guest wellbeing.
Standards and teamwork
- Follow company and safety policies; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions and complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company property.
- Communicate professionally, answer phones using proper protocol, support team goals, and respond appropriately to colleagues.
- Meet quality standards and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
Desired qualifications
- No related work experience or supervisory experience is required; prior food-service experience is valued.
- A high school diploma or GED-equivalent certificate is desirable.
- No license or certification is required.
- Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
