Host/Hostess position in Food and Beverage & Culinary.
Full-time schedule; non-management position.
Location: East Crescent, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Guest reception and dining room operations
- Welcome guests, determine party size, and seat them at a clean, available table with a current menu.
- Guide guests through the dining room and assist according to their needs.
- Move and arrange tables and chairs, adapt layouts, and manage seating for groups with specific needs.
- Check seating and ensure guests have clean napkins, silverware, and other standard items.
- Ensure menus are sufficient, current, clean, and in good condition.
- Monitor seating availability, service, guest safety, and well-being in dining areas.
Standards and teamwork
- Keep work areas clean throughout the day and follow ongoing cleaning procedures.
- Follow safety policies, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean, complete uniform and professional appearance; protect confidential information and company property.
- Welcome guests according to brand standards; communicate clearly and courteously, including when answering the telephone.
- Build constructive relationships with colleagues, collaborate toward shared goals, and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns.
- Meet quality standards and perform other duties assigned by managers that correspond to the role.
Recommended qualifications and physical requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is recommended.
- No related work experience or supervisory experience is required; previous restaurant experience is recommended.
- No license or certification is required.
- Able to stand, sit, and move for extended periods and independently move loads up to 4.5 kg.
