About This Role

Role Purpose

The Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Trakhees EHS, JAFZA regulations, UAE Federal & Local Laws , and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 requirements at The Armored Group’s new manufacturing facility.

The role focuses on regulatory compliance, risk control, operational safety, and authority readiness , supporting inspections, permits, and ongoing certification requirements from operational readiness onward.

Key Responsibilities (Authority‑Aligned)

Ensure strict compliance with:

• Trakhees EHS Regulations & Codes of Practice
• JAFZA Rules & Industrial Safety Requirements
• UAE Federal OSH & Environmental Laws

Implement and maintain a compliant HSE Management System aligned with ISO 45001 (OH&S) and ISO 14001 (EMS) .

Prepare, maintain, and control all statutory HSE documentation , including:

• Risk Assessments (HIRA)
• Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
• Method Statements
• Permit‑to‑Work (Hot Work, Confined Space, Work at Height, Lifting)

Conduct routine facility inspections, workplace audits, and compliance checks in preparation for:

• Trakhees inspections
• Fire & Life Safety inspections
• ISO audits (internal and external)

Investigate incidents, near‑misses, unsafe acts, and conditions; perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.

• Coordinate and conduct:
• Safety inductions (site‑specific)
• Toolbox Talks (TBT)
• Emergency drills (fire, evacuation, chemical spill, medical)

Monitor contractor and subcontractor HSE compliance, ensuring third‑party alignment with site rules and permits.

Support authority submissions, approvals, and renewals related to EHS.

Liaise directly with Trakhees, civil defense, auditors, and consultants as required.

Report HSE performance metrics to management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)

• NEBOSH IGC certified (mandatory).
• Formal qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or Industrial Safety .
• Minimum 3–7 years’ HSE experience in a manufacturing / industrial / heavy engineering environment .

Proven working knowledge of:

• Trakhees EHS requirements
• UAE OSH & Environmental regulations
• JAFZA industrial compliance framework
• Hands‑on experience supporting ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 implementation and audits .
• Strong documentation, inspection handling, and authority‑facing experience.
• Ability to work independently on site and enforce safety compliance at shop‑floor level.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in JAFZA or Trakhees‑regulated facilities .
• Exposure to heavy equipment, welding, painting, fabrication, or industrial assembly operations.
• Experience supporting facility readiness, startup, or certification phases.
