Job Title: Head of Virtual Character Development (1 Position)

About the Job

We are seeking a visionary, multidisciplinary Head of Virtual Character Development to lead the creation, evolution, and strategic direction of next-generation virtual characters, digital humans, AI-powered personas, and interactive agents.

The successful candidate will oversee character strategy, personality design, performance development, storytelling frameworks, and cross-platform deployment for digital characters used in entertainment, education, marketing, gaming, immersive experiences, and AI-driven applications.

This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with AI engineers, writers, performers, animators, designers, researchers, and product teams to build engaging, believable, and scalable virtual character ecosystems.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategy, research, and development of virtual characters across multiple products and platforms.

Define character vision, personality frameworks, behavioral standards, and long-term development roadmaps.

Oversee the design and implementation of digital humans, AI characters, virtual influencers, avatars, and conversational agents.

Collaborate with writers, actors, animators, AI specialists, and creative teams to ensure consistent and compelling character experiences.

Develop character bibles, personality documentation, interaction guidelines, and narrative frameworks.

Manage character lifecycles from concept development through deployment, optimization, and expansion.

Establish quality standards and evaluation methodologies for character performance, engagement, and user satisfaction.

Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies related to AI, digital humans, virtual production, gaming, and immersive media.

Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure successful project execution.

Support public demonstrations, presentations, thought leadership initiatives, and strategic partnerships related to virtual character technologies.

Qualifications

Minimum BA/MA in Digital Media, Game Design, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, Performing Arts, Psychology, Creative Writing, Animation, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

At least 5 years of experience in character development, digital media, gaming, AI products, interactive storytelling, virtual production, or related industries.

Strong understanding of character creation, personality design, narrative development, and audience engagement.

Experience

working with digital humans, avatars, virtual influencers, conversational AI systems, or interactive characters.

Knowledge of AI technologies, large language models, character-driven experiences, and emerging digital human platforms.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex creative or technical projects.

Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, and strategic planning.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to bridge creative, technical, and business objectives within innovative environments.

Portfolio or track record of successful character-focused projects, products, or experiences.

Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an asset.
