Role Overview
The organisation is seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Head of Marketing to build and scale its global marketing engine.
This is a builder-focused leadership role rather than a traditional corporate brand position.
The Head of Marketing will define the company’s category narrative, shape competitive positioning against established cybersecurity vendors, and drive pipeline growth through bold, high-impact marketing initiatives.
The role works closely with executive leadership, founders, product leaders, and sales teams to translate deep technical innovation into clear market messaging that resonates with CISOs, security leaders, and enterprise buyers.
Key Responsibilities
Category Creation & Positioning
• Define and refine market positioning within the cybersecurity ecosystem
• Craft compelling messaging frameworks that differentiate the company from established vendors
• Build a strong challenger-brand identity aligned with innovation and technical credibility
• Translate complex security capabilities into sharp business value propositions
Demand Generation & Pipeline Growth
• Build and scale a modern demand generation engine focused on enterprise pipeline creation
• Own multi-channel acquisition strategies across digital, content, paid media, and partner ecosystems
• Develop targeted campaigns for priority industries and regions
• Optimise funnel performance across MQL, SQL, and revenue contribution metrics
Content & Technical Storytelling
• Lead development of high-impact cybersecurity content including threat reports, research papers, technical blogs, webinars, videos, and executive briefings
• Collaborate with product and security teams to translate technical depth into accessible narratives
• Develop sales enablement materials to support enterprise deal cycles
• Establish a strong market point of view on emerging cyber threats and defensive innovation
Product Marketing & Launch Excellence
• Own product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for new releases
• Build structured launch frameworks that drive awareness, adoption, and market credibility
• Develop competitive battle cards and differentiation strategies
• Align closely with product leadership on roadmap communication
Digital Growth & Performance Marketing
• Lead performance-driven digital marketing across paid channels, SEO, social platforms, and marketing automation
• Test and scale new growth channels and campaign formats
• Manage the marketing technology stack including automation platforms, CRM integration, and analytics tools
• Drive measurable return on investment across all marketing initiatives
Brand Authority & Industry Presence
• Establish thought leadership programs targeting cybersecurity decision-makers
• Secure speaking opportunities, media coverage, and analyst engagement
• Lead participation in global cybersecurity conferences and partner ecosystems
• Build strategic alliances that strengthen brand credibility
Metrics & Commercial Accountability
• Own marketing KPIs directly tied to pipeline and revenue growth
• Develop reporting dashboards for executive leadership visibility
• Use data-driven insights to continuously refine campaigns and budget allocation
Qualifications & Experience
• 8–12 years of experience in B2B technology marketing
• Strong background within cybersecurity vendors or security-focused technology companies
• Proven track record building marketing functions in high-growth startup or scale-up environments
• Experience marketing technical products to enterprise security leaders
• Demonstrated success supporting global sales teams with pipeline generation
Skills & Competencies
• Startup mindset with strong hands-on execution capability
• Strong grasp of cybersecurity market dynamics and buyer personas
• Exceptional storytelling, positioning, and messaging skills
• Ability to simplify complex technical subjects without diluting credibility
• Deep understanding of modern demand generation strategies
• Strong commercial acumen and revenue alignment
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Technology, or related field
• Advanced qualifications are advantageous but not essential
Preferred Background
• Experience in venture-backed startups or high-growth scale-ups
• Familiarity with enterprise security domains such as threat detection, exposure management, cloud security, identity protection, or security operations
• Experience launching innovative products into competitive global markets
• Established relationships within cybersecurity communities and industry networks
