Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented

General Accountant

to join our dynamic finance team.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and a keen interest in financial analysis.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the strategic financial direction of the company.

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Prepare journal entries for various transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights into financial performance.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Month-End And Year-End Close

  • Support the team in the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close procedures.
  • Prepare and review closing entries, reconciliations, and other required tasks.
  • **Compliance and Control:**
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Assist with tax filings and compliance.
  • **Communication and Collaboration:**
  • Effectively communicate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Present financial information clearly and concisely to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a general accounting role
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP (e.g. Zoho, Odoo, Oracle)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills to analyse financial data
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
