Role overview
General Accountant for an expanding multi-branch restaurant and food service chain in Doha, Qatar.
Own day-to-day accounting operations, POS revenue reconciliations, inventory and food-cost controls, and supplier ledger management.
Reports to the Finance Manager or Chief Accountant.
Accounting and close
- Execute accounting-cycle activities covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
- Lead month-end and year-end close, prepare trial balances, and reconcile daily bank and credit-card settlements across branches.
Restaurant finance and reporting
- Reconcile daily POS sales with bank deposits and delivery aggregator reports, including Talabat, Snoonu, and Rafeeq.
- Track inventory movements, recipe costs, and wastage; conduct periodic stock counts.
- Enter financial transactions in ERP platforms such as Odoo or Microsoft Dynamics and build advanced Excel reports for profitability, operating costs, and cash position.
Audit and compliance
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for internal and annual statutory audits.
- Support compliance with IFRS and Qatari tax and regulatory standards, including GTA and municipal fees.
Qualifications and experience
- 5 to 8 years of accounting experience, including exposure to restaurants, hospitality, or multi-outlet F&B chains.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end accounting, F&B costing, inventory control, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel financial modeling.
- Professional fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is a plus.
- CA or ACCA qualification is strongly preferred.
Location and work logistics
- The role is based in Doha, Qatar; candidates already in Qatar are preferred, with valid QID and transferable sponsorship/NOC noted.
- Six working days per week; immediate to 30-day joining is preferred.
