Lead Software Engineer in JPMorganChase's Data Management/Data Tech organization.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions for complex technical problems.
- Lead an AI-driven approach to engineering work and develop real-time, mission-critical systems using Java.
- Tackle large-scale engineering challenges with technologies such as Kafka and optimize performance and stability.
- Evaluate vendors, startups, and internal solutions for architectural quality, technical credentials, and fit with existing systems.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice and promote emerging technologies.
- Drive team adoption of authorized AI-assisted development, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause practices.
- Establish standards to validate AI outputs through secure coding, peer review, and automated testing; promote reusable patterns.
- Apply SDLC tools and AI-assisted automation to improve automation outcomes.
- Foster creativity, inclusion, opportunity, respect, and technical excellence.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Practical system design, application development, testing, and operational stability experience.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery, and the full SDLC.
- Advanced understanding of agile methods, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Technical discipline experience in areas such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services and its IT systems; practical cloud-native experience.
- Experience leading use of approved AI-assisted development tools and validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI workflows, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and security; experience coaching engineers on compliant use.
Preferred qualifications
- Expertise in GenAI or experience with both Java and Python.
- Proficiency in Java/Spring, data structures, AWS, Terraform, and performance tuning.
- Solid Kafka experience and testing and debugging low-latency applications.
Compensation
- Structured salary range is USD 156,750–215,000 yearly.
- Eligible roles may receive commission-based pay or discretionary incentive compensation; additional compensation details are provided during hiring.
