Front Office Receptionist

Role overview

Front desk and guest service

• Be conversant with hotel facilities and services.
• Process check-in and check-out in line with hotel policies and procedures.
• Complete guest registration forms and ensure details are accurate.
• Handle reservation inquiries by phone, email, and other channels courteously and promptly.
• Act on flags and special requests; stay aware of arrivals, accommodation requirements, special needs, and expected departures.
• Follow up on VIP reservations and arrange VIP amenities and other requested services.
• Prepare pre-registration records for VIPs, extended stays, and repeat guests.
• Answer questions about hotel facilities and tourist interests, assist guests during their stay, and handle complaints.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest personal information.

Financial and other duties

• Maintain accountability for the cash float and reconcile it daily.
• Ensure the hotel's credit and payment policy is followed.
• Perform related duties and special projects assigned by management.

Candidate requirements

• Previous hotel front-desk experience.
• Competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a hotel property management system.
• Competent oral and written English communication skills.
• Strong organization and coordination skills to handle multiple assignments and projects.
• A bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or Tourism, or another formal hospitality qualification, is desirable.
• A can-do attitude, energy, self-motivation, and strong initiative are sought.
• Able to work under pressure and on a shift schedule; adaptable to change.
