Assists the Front Office Manager with front office functions and daily staff supervision.
Oversees bell and door staff, switchboard, guest services, and the front desk.
Supports efficient check-in and check-out, guest and employee satisfaction, and departmental financial performance.
Education and experience
- High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in guest services, front desk, or a related professional area; alternatively, a relevant two-year degree with no work experience required.
- The alternative degree may be in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major.
Guest services and front desk operations
- Manage daily operations, service quality, work priorities, staffing levels, and departmental goals.
- Handle guest complaints, gather feedback, coach employees, and promote excellent customer service.
- Oversee front desk shifts, customer recognition programs, credit policies, same-day selling, room revenue, and occupancy procedures.
- Apply property policies consistently, including disciplinary documentation and peer review processes.
Team and employee support
- Supervise and support front desk employees and maintain collaborative team relationships.
- Support employee development, satisfaction, hiring, orientation, and progressive discipline activities.
- Cover front office areas and perform front desk duties or shifts when needed.
Communication and coordination
- Communicate operational updates to employees, peers, supervisors, and executives.
- Participate in departmental meetings and communicate front desk goals.
