This is a full-time, non-management position at Aloft Hotels in Dubai.
Kitchen duties
- Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods; regulate cooking equipment and thaw frozen food in refrigeration.
- Ensure proper portions, arrangement, and garnishing; monitor food quality and quantity and maintain food logs.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods, excess food for daily specials, and menu specials or unavailable items to food and beverage staff.
Team, service, and safety
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of employees.
- Follow company and safety and security procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, and complete safety training.
- Address guest needs, communicate professionally, build positive working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality expectations.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
- At least 3 years of related work experience is preferred.
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
- No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified.
Work conditions
- The position is not remote and is located at East Crescent, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
- Duties include extended standing, sitting, or walking; reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping; and moving objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
