Freelance Accountant (Part-Time, Remote)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Maintain books and financial records; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable; reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Process journal and adjusting entries; ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.
• Assist with internal and external audits; prepare tax returns and support UAE and other relevant statutory filings.
• Monitor expenses, support budgeting and forecasting, and document financial transactions.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus proven accountant experience.
• Experience supporting companies in multiple countries is ideal.
• Strong IFRS and accounting principles knowledge; experience with VAT, corporate tax, and income tax compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, SAP, or Oracle; advanced Excel skills.

Skills and preferred qualifications

• Analytical problem-solving, independent work, meeting reporting deadlines, clear written communication, reporting, and confidentiality are required.
• CA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA qualification, including pursuing candidates, is preferred.
• UAE free zone company and UAE Corporate Tax experience is preferred.
• Fluency in Russian, Ukrainian, Italian, French, Portuguese, or Spanish is preferred.

Work arrangement

• The engagement is described as remote with occasional Dubai meetings if required; the work location is also described as hybrid remote in Dubai.

Compensation

• Compensation is AED 2,000 per month.

Availability

• Availability during UAE business hours is required for regular communication.
