Forward Deployed Senior Data Scientist

Role overview

What you will do

• Translate business challenges into analytical opportunities; explore data, engineer features, and build predictive models.
• Develop and optimize models for forecasting, classification, clustering, recommendations, anomaly detection, experimentation, and causal analysis.
• Build generative AI applications using LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and agentic AI frameworks.
• Integrate solutions into enterprise applications and business processes; ensure production readiness, scalability, and robustness.
• Define evaluation metrics, validate and monitor performance, and improve model accuracy and reliability.
• Partner with customer teams and cross-functional AI, data, product, engineering, and UX teams to deliver solutions.
• Communicate findings, trade-offs, and recommendations; keep current with advances in data science and AI.

What you bring

• Strong hands-on data science, machine learning, and applied AI expertise; excellent Python and SQL proficiency.
• Experience with Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, experimental design, model evaluation, and feature engineering.
• Experience with predictive models, recommendations, forecasting, anomaly detection, and classification.
• Hands-on LLM, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector database, and AI orchestration framework experience.
• Experience deploying AI and machine learning solutions with cloud-native platforms and modern MLOps.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into practical solutions and balance accuracy, interpretability, scalability, and business value.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in customer-facing work; proactive use of AI in everyday workflows.
• SAP platform familiarity is advantageous, including S/4HANA, HANA Cloud, BW/4HANA, BTP, AI Core, AI Launchpad, and SAP AI services.
