Forward Deployed Engineer, Gen AI

About the Role

What You Will Do

• Embed with Fixed Income teams to understand workflows, pain points, data availability, and AI opportunities.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into AI-enabled solutions.
• Build generative AI applications using Python, agentic frameworks, prompt engineering, MCP integrations, orchestration, and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Develop AI capabilities for knowledge retrieval, workflow automation, document analysis, trade support, client intelligence, exception handling, and reporting.
• Build retrieval pipelines across structured and unstructured enterprise data.
• Design evaluation frameworks for accuracy, completeness, hallucination risk, relevance, and compliance alignment.
• Ensure security, privacy, auditability, access control, and model governance alignment.
• Support user adoption and identify reusable components for other financial-services use cases.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on Python and modern software engineering experience.
• Experience building applications with Python and agentic LLM APIs.
• Strong prompt engineering knowledge, including design, testing, grounding, context management, and output validation.
• Experience with APIs, databases, cloud services, and enterprise data sources.
• Ability to lead discovery and convert ambiguous business problems into technical solutions.
• Strong business-facing communication skills.
• Experience evolving prototypes into production-ready solutions in Agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial-services experience, ideally in capital markets or Fixed Income-related functions.
• Familiarity with Fixed Income products including rates, credit, securitised products, municipals, FX, or derivatives.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, and document intelligence.
• Experience designing AI evaluation frameworks and model monitoring.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI governance, model risk, compliance, privacy, and regulatory expectations.
• Experience in forward-deployed, consulting, client engineering, post-sales engineering, or technical delivery roles.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, secure APIs, authentication, authorization, and enterprise integration patterns.

Work Location

• The role is embedded with a Fixed Income business in New York.
