This role is responsible for developing and maintaining financial plans and forecasts for the Summit, including budgeting, cash flow planning, revenue projections, and cost tracking for events and related initiatives.

The Financial Planning Manager will analyze financial data, prepare periodic reports and dashboards, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making by leadership and cross-functional teams.

Day-to-day activities include monitoring actuals vs. budget, identifying variances and risks, reviewing vendor and sponsorship financial arrangements, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

The role will also collaborate with operations, marketing, partnerships, and production teams to model scenarios, optimize resource allocation, and ensure financial sustainability for current and future editions of the Summit.

Qualifications

  • Strong financial planning and finance skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial modeling.
  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret complex financial data, perform variance analysis, and generate actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of investments and financial instruments relevant to managing reserves, funding, and event-related financial structures.
  • Sales and revenue-generation skills, including experience working with sponsorships, partnerships, and ticketing or event revenue streams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, ACCA) are an advantage.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial software; familiarity with reporting tools and dashboards is desirable.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.
  • Experience in events, entertainment, or large-scale projects is a plus, along with comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities on a part-time schedule.
