Finance Manager

Role overview

Planning, budgets, and reporting

• Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans with department heads and investigate significant budget variances.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, and financial performance; prepare projections, cost-benefit analyses, and assessments for management decisions.
• Oversee monthly and annual closings and review financial statements, management reports, cash flow statements, and performance reports.
• Supervise general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting; maintain records, approvals, and internal controls.

Cash flow, compliance, and real estate finance

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital, commitments, receivables, collections, payment schedules, and supplier obligations.
• Maintain banking relationships and support financing and treasury activities where applicable; identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations, including UAE VAT and Corporate Tax; coordinate internal and external audits and resolve findings.
• Maintain controls and documentation for real estate transactions, including escrow arrangements where applicable.
• Review property sales, brokerage commissions, incentives, real estate receivables, and financial commitments; evaluate investment opportunities and business proposals.

Team leadership and performance

• Lead, supervise, and develop the finance and accounting team; assign work, monitor performance, and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Improve accounting procedures, reporting systems, and internal controls and ensure effective use of accounting software and ERP systems.
• KPIs include reporting accuracy and timeliness, budget and cash flow management, cost control, regulatory compliance, receivables, audit performance, profitability support, and team performance.

Education and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Fully qualified ACCA, CPA, or CMA required; completed CA or CIMA qualifications may be considered as equivalents.
• CFA, MBA, Master's in Finance, or additional UAE taxation, auditing, or real estate finance qualifications are advantageous.

Experience and technical knowledge

• Requires 7 to 10 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a finance managerial or supervisory position.
• Requires experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow management, and financial controls.
• Requires practical knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, and UAE Corporate Tax.
• UAE real estate, property brokerage, or investment experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of property revenue recognition, brokerage commissions, off-plan sales, escrow arrangements, and Abu Dhabi real estate regulations is advantageous.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent financial software is required.

• Requires advanced Microsoft Excel and proficiency in accounting software.
• Requires leadership, people management, decision-making, communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Requires analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, confidentiality, integrity, and accountability.
• Must be able to explain financial information to senior management and non-finance teams and manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
