Full-time temporary Finance Analyst role with Pattison Food Group in Langley, BC.
The temporary position is expected to last 20 months and reports to the Manager, Finance.
Supports financial reporting integrity, month-end processes, strategic decisions, and business performance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large Excel datasets to identify trends, metrics, and business insights.
- Prepare journal entries, ensure financial statements are accurate, and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze and comment on financial statement variances monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Partner with Operations on business issues, performance measurement, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Assess internal controls and processes, document effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
- Improve workflows and system efficiency; assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of financial accounting or auditing experience; retail experience is ideal.
- CPA designation or equivalent industry experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Power BI, full-cycle accounting, and database/query development experience are assets.
- Analytical, adaptable, collaborative, organized, and effective in verbal and written communication.
