The Facilities Manager delivers facilities management services in partnership with stakeholders and is accountable for service quality and performance.
The role supervises, plans, and coordinates system operations and hard services, including maintenance, M&E, help desk calls, and small project works.
The position combines hands-on operational work with managerial and financial responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage contract staff, operations, electrical and mechanical services, project works, and building performance against contractual outputs.
- Control technical matters relating to plant and equipment maintenance, new works, and upgrades.
- Manage the contract team and relevant subcontractors, including competent staffing and succession planning.
- Provide team leadership, guidance, coaching, training support, and business communication.
- Ensure contractual KPI and SLA compliance, effective client relationships, and prompt reporting of building issues.
- Develop financial plans for revenue, profit, work in progress, debt, cost reduction, and contract growth.
- Review operating procedures and recommend improvements, including emergency and contingency procedures for critical systems.
- Ensure risk assessments and method statements are used for planned and reactive work, and maintain safe working conditions.
- Verify building standards and checklists and ensure statutory, policy, and contractual commitments are met.
- Work with subject matter experts to advance innovation, sustainability, and best practice across site services.
Experience and education
- 6–10 years of relevant facilities management experience is required.
- An engineering bachelor's degree is preferred.
Preferred requirements
- Facilities management certification is preferred.
- Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management is preferred.
- Leadership skills to motivate team quality and efficiency are preferred.
