Facilities Coordinator (Part time, 6 month contract)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily building walkthroughs to check cleanliness, organization, and operations.
• Help respond to service requests and emergencies; update service tickets and documentation.
• Support company events and special projects.
• Help ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards.
• Coordinate cleaning services, escalating concerns as needed.
• Track facility issues such as lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and furniture.
• Coordinate with the landlord and service providers on minor repairs and maintenance.
• Monitor waste, recycling, and supply levels.

Qualifications and experience

• Previous experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field.
• Strong organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills; able to work independently and manage priorities.
• Comfortable interacting with employees, leadership, and external vendors.
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain up to a top-secret security clearance.
• Able to move up to 50 pounds and perform extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and manual tasks.

Schedule and contract

• Part-time contract for six months, with possibility of extension.
• Approximately 3–4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with flexible scheduling around peak building activity.
• Occasional additional hours may be required for major events or initiatives, with advance notice.

Work locations

• Work at 425 Legget Drive, Kanata, and 99 Michael Cowpland Drive.
