Enterprise Architect – Tech Resilience in banking domain

Role overview

Required experience and expertise

• Strong experience in enterprise, solution, or infrastructure architecture.
• Must focus on disaster recovery, business continuity, high availability, and technology resilience.
• Must have designed enterprise-scale resilience solutions for critical environments.
• Opening requirements call for financial services, banking, or highly regulated-environment expertise; a later section describes this experience as strongly preferred.
• Must understand application, infrastructure, cloud, network, storage, database, and integration architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve enterprise resilience and failover architecture; assess current architectures across applications, platforms, infrastructure, and dependencies.
• Identify bottlenecks, single points of failure, recovery constraints, and cross-site dependency risks; develop target-state options aligned with rapid recovery.
• Evaluate availability, recoverability, operability, complexity, cost, and implementation-risk trade-offs.
• Work with enterprise architecture, technology platforms, DR/operations, cybersecurity, and application owners to validate architecture assumptions and requirements.

Required skills

• Strong enterprise resilience, disaster recovery, high-availability, and failover architecture experience.
• Knowledge of active-active, active-passive, multi-site, and multi-region patterns.
• Assess end-to-end application, infrastructure, network, data, integration, and cloud dependencies.
• Define RTO/RPO-aligned architecture and analyze recovery failure modes.
• Strong stakeholder facilitation, technical option assessment, and architecture documentation skills.

Key deliverables

Preferred certifications and technologies

• Preferred certifications include TOGAF and cloud architecture certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• CBCI or another business continuity/resilience certification is advantageous.
• Preferred technology stack includes hybrid infrastructure, cloud platforms, virtualization, container platforms, databases, storage and replication, networking and load balancing, enterprise integration, and observability.
• Listed tools and platforms include ServiceNow CMDB, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft 365.
