Role scope

Operate and monitor production applications, infrastructure, networks, data centres, and supporting facilities to maintain secure, reliable 24×7 services, including externally hosted solutions.

Work follows approved procedures and assigned access; high-risk actions, production changes, major incidents, and exceptions require authorization or escalation.

Coverage includes rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays, formal handovers, and escalation coverage.

Production operations

  • Monitor production applications, servers, operating systems, databases, middleware, APIs, cloud services, networks, and externally hosted services.
  • Acknowledge alerts, conduct authorized first-line diagnosis and recovery, coordinate technical teams and providers, and escalate incidents according to severity, SLAs, and major-incident procedures.
  • Execute and verify backups, batch processing, system jobs, and operational checks; investigate failures and record completion and recovery actions.
  • Plan and perform restore tests and recovery simulations; support disaster-recovery and business-continuity drills, record results, identify gaps, and coordinate follow-up.
  • Execute approved infrastructure and network changes during maintenance windows, validating prerequisites, approvals, implementation, and rollback readiness.
  • Coordinate teams, business units, vendors, and hosting partners for releases and deployments; participate in infrastructure implementation, upgrades, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor data-centre hardware and facilities, including UPS, cooling, water-leak detection, fire alarms, and power-protection systems; escalate abnormal conditions.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance for production hardware and data-centre systems, including readiness, approvals, service impacts, and completion evidence.
  • Maintain operational contacts, escalation paths, runbooks, checklists, recovery procedures, and shift instructions; support audits and assigned corrective actions.
  • Track SLAs and operational targets; report availability, incidents, jobs, backups, capacity, and infrastructure status; monitor support, licensing, and maintenance coverage risks.
  • Analyze operational trends and capacity needs; recommend measurable improvements to availability, performance, resilience, automation, and productivity.

Qualifications and experience

  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Applications, M.Tech, or a closely related field.
  • At least two years of overall IT experience and 1.5 years of production-support experience in a 24×7 high-availability environment.
  • Production monitoring, incident management, application and infrastructure troubleshooting, service availability and performance monitoring, and change, release, and problem-management capabilities.
  • Production-support, NOC, or data-centre operations experience is required.
  • Relevant application exposure includes one or more of web, enterprise, airline reservation, payment gateway, API, mobile, middleware, batch-processing, database-driven, or cloud applications.
  • The posting lists exposure to web applications, APIs, payment gateways, middleware, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, or database-driven systems as required.

Shift coverage

  • The role provides 24×7 shift-based production operations coverage, including weekends and public holidays.
