Engineering Supervisor

Position Summary

Maintenance and Safety Duties

• Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters; identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves.
• Order and stock parts and supplies and maintain inventory and purchase-order logs.
• Inspect equipment and machines and record work-related information using computers.
• Operate power lifts and complete life-safety checks, including fire-pump and generator tests.
• Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems and assist in developing disaster-response protocols.
• Respond to guest repair requests.
• Follow safety and security policies, report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries, and complete safety training and certifications.

Team and Guest Service

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential information.
• Welcome guests, anticipate and address service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Build positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Maintain quality standards and recommend or implement improvements to efficiency, productivity, safety, or cost savings.
• Communicate clearly and professionally; perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred.
• At least two years of related work experience preferred.
• At least two years of supervisory experience preferred.

Workplace and Physical Duties

• Full-time, non-management position at the Sheraton property on Al Muntazah Street, Sharjah; the position is not remote.
• Duties include reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and standing, sitting, walking, and using stairs or service ramps for extended periods.
