Role overview

Hands-on technical role supporting special-process development, qualification, and industrialization for aerospace propulsion programs.

Work focuses on rotating, structural, and hot-section engine components in a greenfield manufacturing environment.

Process engineering

  • Support process development and improvement, manufacturing documentation, control plans, and process validation.
  • Support FAI, capability studies, industrial qualification, statistical monitoring, and process data collection.
  • Work with processes including shot peening, thermal spray coatings, heat treatment, brazing, surface preparation, cleaning, and chemical processing.

NPI and production support

  • Support NPI from prototype builds through production readiness, production ramp-up, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in resolving quality, cost, and delivery issues and support root-cause investigations and corrective actions.

Design and supplier support

  • Participate in concurrent engineering and design reviews; provide manufacturing feedback and support tolerance, process-selection, and material trade studies.
  • Support supplier interactions, process reviews, part qualification, issue resolution, and shop-floor trials and builds.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of aerospace or propulsion manufacturing experience and experience supporting NPI, prototype builds, or production.
  • Hands-on expertise in at least two listed technologies: shot peening, thermal spray coatings, heat treatment, brazing, or chemical processing.
  • Working knowledge of titanium alloys, nickel-based superalloys, stainless steels, and aluminum alloys; understanding of documentation, traceability, and configuration control.
  • Aerospace quality-system and qualification experience, including NADCAP exposure, is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving, detail orientation, and ability to work in a fast-paced greenfield environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • A master’s degree and 7+ years of aerospace or propulsion manufacturing experience are preferred.
