Leads and supports planning, execution, and analysis of flight tests for aircraft and weapon-system integration.
Works to ensure systems meet defined performance, safety, and integration requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design test plans covering objectives such as performance, stability, and safety.
- Conduct tests aboard aircraft or monitor parameters from a control room.
- Analyze test data and assess integration against expected outcomes.
- Diagnose issues and propose solutions or modifications.
- Document objectives, results, conclusions, and recommendations in reports.
- Collaborate with pilots, engineers, and manufacturers to conduct tests safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Provide engineering teams technical support based on test outcomes.
- Manage scheduling, resource allocation, and budgeting for the flight-test phase.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace engineering.
- At least five years of flight-testing experience.
- Experience with aerodynamics, flight mechanics, aircraft, and weapon systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, including MIL-STD, and interface control documentation.
- Advanced knowledge of flight test management systems.
