Position summary

Maintenance and repairs

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines; identify and operate equipment and building utility shut-off valves.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies; hand over daily activities and problems to other shifts.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items.
• Prepare and paint surfaces, make minor drywall and wood trim repairs, replace bulbs and air-conditioning filters, and clean repair areas.
• Program televisions and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and external landscaping sprinklers.
• Enter air-handler schedules and make temperature changes using basic computer skills.

Technical areas

• The role involves air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work.

Required qualification

• A driver’s license is required.

Preferred qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Some general maintenance and interior or exterior surface preparation and painting experience is preferred.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience is specified.

Work arrangement
