Full-time, non-management Engineer I position in Engineering and Facilities at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
The role handles hotel maintenance, guest repair requests, preventive maintenance, and general building upkeep.
Maintenance and repairs
- Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance problems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and plant-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Inspect equipment; operate relevant shutoff valves and utility disconnects; maintain inventory and request supplies.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, controls, kitchen equipment, and guest-room items.
- Prepare and paint surfaces, make minor wall and woodwork repairs, replace bulbs and filters, and clean repair areas.
- Program televisions; maintain gardens and irrigation; complete engineering inventory tasks and computer-based air-control adjustments.
- Use lockout/tagout before maintenance work and communicate shift activities and issues.
Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- General maintenance, surface preparation, and painting experience are desirable; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is valued.
- A high school diploma, GED, or vocational/technical qualification is preferred.
Schedule and location
- The role is full time and not remote.
- Location: Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Safety and service expectations
Follow safety procedures, report hazards and incidents, complete safety training, and store flammable materials appropriately.
Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential property information, support colleagues, and meet guest-service and quality standards.
The role includes physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, and bending.
