Maintenance duties

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues; perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect equipment, diagnose problems, perform basic repairs, and operate equipment and building utility shutoffs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, request parts and supplies, and communicate daily work and problems across shifts.
• Prepare and paint surfaces; make minor drywall and woodwork repairs; replace bulbs and air-conditioning filters; clean repair and painting areas.
• Repair and troubleshoot equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guest-room items, internet devices, switches, and outlets; unclog toilets and drains.
• Program televisions and perform general engineering maintenance and inventory tasks; use computers to enter air-regulation schedules and change temperatures.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance; repair indoor and outdoor landscaping and exterior irrigation systems.

Systems and technical areas

• Basic knowledge or aptitude to learn air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building operations.
• The work includes preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and repair, painting, surface preparation, computer use, and irrigation maintenance.

Required qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• Must be able to use computers to enter and locate work information and perform required physical tasks, including lifting or moving objects weighing 50 pounds or less without assistance, climbing, reaching, bending, and twisting.

Preferred qualifications

• A high school diploma/GED or vocational or technical degree is preferred.
• General maintenance, surface preparation, and painting experience is desirable; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is valued.

• Follow company safety policies, report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, and injuries, complete safety training and certifications, and store flammable materials properly.
• Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential property information and company assets, welcome guests, anticipate service needs, support quality standards, and maintain positive working relationships.
