Electro Mechanical Technician
Role Overview
Carries out maintenance, overhauling, and installation of electrical motor machinery in line with procedures, industry practices, HSE guidelines, and quality standards.

Carries out maintenance, overhauling, and installation of electrical motor machinery in line with procedures, industry practices, HSE guidelines, and quality standards.
Function covers dismantling and overhauling all types of AC/DC motors; reports to and works with the motor technical authority.
Key duties
- Checks consumable stock levels to support inventory control and timely reordering.
- Updates maintenance logs with work progress, measurements, defects, problems, findings, equipment conditions, and readings.
- Signs daily meeting and toolbox-talk attendance sheets.
- Contributes to change initiatives, programmes, and projects; follows organizational and departmental procedures.
- Complies with health, safety, security, and environmental controls.
- Works with the works manager, technical authority, subcontractors, helpers, and OEM representatives as needed.
Qualifications and experience
- Mechanical diploma or apprenticeship in an electrical field related to motor work.
- At least five years maintaining, dismantling, and installing electrical motors in workshops and on industrial service sites.
- Experience includes various motors, fans, and submersible pump motors.
- Can check bearing sizes and clearances using inside and outside micrometers; has complete knowledge of motor overhauling.
- Can read and interpret mechanical and electrical documents and drawings.
Technical skills
- Knows how to use a Megger and surge tester.
- Knowledge of applicable legal, quality, and HSSE requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of power plant maintenance, equipment, practices, and procedures.

Work relationships and conduct
Works closely with the works manager and motor technical authority and may coordinate with subcontracted labour, helpers, or OEM representatives.
