Electrical Engineer

Position overview

Responsibilities

• Design project electrical systems for power distribution, lighting, communication, and emergency needs.
• Perform load calculations and select materials, equipment, and wiring.
• Prepare electrical layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and project managers to meet specifications and deadlines.
• Supervise and monitor on-site work for compliance with plans, codes, and safety regulations.
• Manage electrical scope, materials procurement, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Oversee installation and test systems and components for functionality and safety.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during construction.
• Ensure code and safety compliance; conduct safety audits and inspections.
• Prepare technical reports and as-built drawings, and maintain records of materials, installation, and modifications.
• Provide progress reports and collaborate with engineering teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering experience in construction.
• Knowledge of local and national electrical codes, such as NEC.
• Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• PE license may be required or preferred, depending on jurisdiction.

Preferred skills

• Renewable energy systems, including solar or wind, and energy efficiency experience are preferred.
• Project management experience or certification such as PMP is preferred.
• Familiarity with BIM for electrical systems is preferred.

Pay

• AED 10,000–12,000 per month.
