Electrical Design Engineer - Commercial & Institutional Segment

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Map target sub-segments and micro-segments with the segment strategy and offer leader.
• Deliver reference designs and sales tools to promote Eaton offerings and increase share of wallet in commercial building and residential segments.
• Map use cases and application functionality to Eaton offerings; create a reference-design and applications library against an agreed roadmap.
• Work with product managers and applications engineers to position offerings, identify roadmap gaps, define application needs, and develop technical solutions.
• Create design guides, CAD files, and technical specifications with marketing communications; support associated promotional content and tools.
• Support consultant programs and specification sales engagement through content, webinars, meetings, calls, and communities of practice.
• Refine frameworks and content based on sales, marketing, consultant, and designer feedback; develop tools to showcase capabilities and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, IT engineering, or a similar discipline.
• At least five years in a technical role with customer interactions in the Commercial & Institutional Buildings segment market.
• Solid knowledge of energy and power distribution products and solutions, including IEC and other applicable electrical codes and standards.
• Software skills such as SCADA; proficiency in electrical design software.

Skills

• 3D modeling software is a plus.
• Good knowledge of MS Office and CRM applications.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Commercial savvy, relationship-building and consultative selling abilities, initiative, self-management, and a digital mindset.
