Intern, Field Service Representative (4/8 months) - Ottawa, ON

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Assist field service personnel with electrical work and support electrical equipment maintenance, commissioning, modifications, wiring, controls, drives, and breakers.
• Prepare detailed customer reports on work performed; follow safety practices and maintain high-quality work.
• Manage paperwork and office procedures as required, and perform other assigned duties.
• Work evenings and weekends when required by customers; business travel to customer sites may be required.
• Follow Eaton's Philosophy and Values and applicable safety and environmental standards.

Basic qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a co-op program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Business travel to customer sites is required, utilizing a company vehicle.
• Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
• Must reside within 120 km of the work location; relocation is not offered.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications

• Preferred: 0–5 years of experience in manufacturing, electrical controls, and/or power distribution products.
• Preferred: strong computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Compensation

• Hourly pay range is $22.00–$26.00; the stated range is a general guideline and pay considers skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business factors.
