An experienced Duty Engineer is sought for a five-star luxury hotel in Dubai.
The role supervises daily engineering operations, maintains hotel facilities and equipment, and responds to maintenance issues to support guest comfort and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise hotel engineering and maintenance operations and oversee technicians’ assigned work.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other building systems.
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, coordinating with departments to minimize guest inconvenience.
- Ensure facilities, equipment, and plant rooms meet safety standards and hotel engineering requirements.
- Maintain maintenance records, shift reports, and work orders; troubleshoot faults and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering field.
- Previous Duty Engineer or similar engineering experience in a four- or five-star hotel.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Good troubleshooting, leadership, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and public holidays as part of shift work.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and hotel engineering standards.
