The employer seeks an electrical design engineer with 2–4 years of experience in infrastructure electrical design.
The role covers electrical distribution networks, power system analysis, and utility design.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in designing electrical infrastructure systems, including MV/LV distribution networks.
- Prepare design drawings, load schedules, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Perform cable sizing, load flow, voltage drop, and short-circuit calculations; use Siemens SINCAL and/or ETAP for modelling and analysis.
- Support technical reports, specifications, and design submissions; coordinate with civil, road, wet utility, and telecom teams.
- Check design compliance with UAE standards, authority requirements, and project specifications.
- Review drawings and calculations, coordinate with authorities and stakeholders, and help resolve technical issues with senior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant electrical design experience; infrastructure consultancy experience is preferred.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of MV/LV distribution systems and electrical calculations.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens SINCAL and/or ETAP.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and electrical design documentation.
- UAE utility standards and authority requirements knowledge is preferred.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Additional advantageous experience
- Fibre optics infrastructure design experience, including cable routing, duct layouts, and telecom utility coordination, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with UAE utility authority approval processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Civil 3D or other relevant infrastructure design software is advantageous.
