Role and work arrangement

Full-time, on-site Drone Videographer role in Dubai; minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience.

Capture visual content and accurate site data for aviation, infrastructure, engineering, industrial, and construction projects.

Work with Studio, BIM, and engineering teams to deliver media and coordinate-controlled reality-capture datasets.

Drone operations and visual production

  • Plan and execute aerial and ground filming and photography; prepare shot lists, capture plans, and schedules.
  • Operate professional drones, cameras, gimbals, and stabilisation systems; obtain necessary permissions and site access approvals.
  • Assess weather, risks, and safety; capture 360-degree imagery and maintain organised, labelled, archived, and backed-up media.
  • Edit corporate, progress, engineering, and project videos; perform colour grading, sound treatment, graphics, and final exports.

Scanning and point-cloud processing

  • Plan and perform laser scanning for as-built documentation, scan-to-BIM, and project quality checks.
  • Operate terrestrial, SLAM/handheld, and mobile scanners from at least two major OEM ecosystems, such as Leica, FARO, Trimble, or NavVis.
  • Use survey controls and align data to the required project coordinate system; check coverage and arrange re-scans for gaps.
  • Register and geo-reference point clouds; review RMSE, overlap, residuals, tie-point accuracy, and SLAM loop closure where applicable.
  • Clean, filter, segment, unify, decimate, and colourise point clouds; identify errors, noise, reflections, moving objects, and alignment discrepancies.

BIM delivery, equipment, and safety

  • Use Autodesk ReCap Pro, CloudCompare, and relevant OEM software to prepare and validate point-cloud datasets.
  • Support point-cloud use in Revit and Navisworks and deliver files in E57, RCP/RCS, LAS/LAZ, PTS/PTX, or vendor-native formats.
  • Coordinate with BIM and engineering teams; publish data to the designated CDE with consistent naming, coordinates, metadata, traceability, and backups.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment and software; comply with UAE drone regulations, approvals, site HSE, BIM plans, and data procedures.

Required qualifications

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience, with practical competence in both drone videography and laser scanning/point-cloud registration.
  • Degree or diploma in film, cinematography, media production, multimedia, civil engineering, geomatics, surveying, geoinformatics, or a related discipline.
  • Portfolio or showreel showing aerial and ground filming, photography, editing, colour grading, and individual contributions.
  • Relevant drone pilot qualifications, flight-regulation knowledge, and experience with professional drones, cameras, gimbals, and stabilisers.
  • Experience with scanners from at least two major OEM ecosystems, scanning and registration software, and point-cloud processing.
  • Understanding of survey control, coordinates, geo-referencing, RMSE, quality checks, scan coverage, and point-cloud formats.
  • Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, point-cloud integration, scan-to-BIM, and model verification.
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent editing tools; understanding of camera, lighting, audio, colour, and media management.
  • Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and time-management skills; ability to work independently on sites and travel as required.

Preferred qualifications

  • Vendor training or certification in professional scanning and registration platforms is preferred.
  • Experience in aviation, infrastructure, industrial facilities, transportation, large construction, as-built documentation, scan-to-BIM, or project QA/QC is preferred.
  • Knowledge of total stations, GNSS, coordinate transformations, datums, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar CDEs, ISO 19650, or USIBD accuracy specifications is preferred.
  • After Effects, Photoshop, motion graphics, visual storytelling, UAV photogrammetry, 360-degree imagery, 3D Gaussian Splatting, Python, or Dynamo are advantageous.
  • Previous UAE media, production, engineering, or construction industry experience is preferred.

Equipment and candidate materials

  • Professional production or reality-capture equipment ownership is preferred, but does not replace required qualifications, regulatory approvals, or site permissions.
  • Candidates should provide an equipment list with make, model, specifications, ownership, and availability.
  • Submit a CV, portfolio or showreel, examples of scanning or reality-capture work, details of individual contributions, licences or certifications, software and scanner platforms, point-cloud formats, survey-control methods, and equipment information.

Performance measures

Performance includes capture quality, registration accuracy, complete scan coverage, production quality, and timely delivery.

Data management, safety and regulatory compliance, and collaboration with Studio, BIM, engineering, and project teams are also assessed.
