Overview

The ideal candidate will lead the estimation & tendering department and needs a successful track record of heading up an Estimation department.

Responsibilities

1.

Manage the Estimation & Tender Department and mentor the staff team.

Prepare annual evaluations of staff.

Interview and appoint new positions as and when required in agreement with the higher management.

2.

Discuss the received tender invitations with the General Director.

If interested, confirm interest to participate or regret.

3.

Review pre-qualifications prepared for potential projects, before submission.

4.

Provide technical guidance and problem solving for all estimators and quantity surveyors regarding various complicated items of work.

5.

Study documents with respect to potential risks in the project and protecting the rights of the Company by either qualifying or making the necessary allowances in cost.

6.

Ensure in consultation with the Contracts Department that there are no biased conditions or terms of contract.

7.

Review queries brought up by the estimators and quantity surveyors and then prepare tender query letters to the consultants / client.

8.

Participate in technical discussions /meetings with the sub-contractors/ suppliers for specialist items to get a deeper understanding for pricing.

9.

Checking the direct and indirect cost working prepared by the estimators in detail and improvising using own experience and knowledge.

10.

Assess all risks involved in the project.

11.

Prepare a final settlement sheet showing all direct & indirect costs; expected discounts; potential risks involved and propose the addition of markups.

12.

Submit the final price for the tender upon approval of the General Director.

13.

Prepare the covering letter, details of offers and check other technical details prepared by the estimators for final submission to the client / consultant.

14.

Follow up with the consultants/ client.

15.

Prepare detailed responses and provide additional requested documents to the consultant/ client when post tender clarifications are received.

16.

Attend pre-tender and post tender negotiation meetings with consultants/ client.

17.

Ensure correct wording in the LOA and contract agreement and check for the right contract inclusions before we finally sign and stamp all contract documentation and drawings once the job is awarded.

18.

Prepare and issue budgets for the awarded projects to the Cost Control Department.
