Director of Engineering - Infrastructure Operations

Role introduction

Platform and cloud operations

• Own reliable, well-monitored, and secure infrastructure operations across AWS, Azure, and private cloud.
• Set standards for monitoring, resilience, and patch compliance.
• Partner on cloud architecture, cost optimization, and infrastructure roadmaps.
• Drive resilience and disaster recovery across the product portfolio.

Incident management and governance

• Own major infrastructure and platform incident response and ensure coordinated resolution.
• Drive root cause analysis and apply lessons to process and architecture improvements.
• Define and improve change, incident response, and operational risk processes.
• Own change governance and establish escalation paths and decision rights.

Team and cross-functional leadership

• Lead and mentor 15–20 infrastructure engineers, including managers; own hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Build a culture of ownership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Engineering, Services, and Customer Success, and represent Infrastructure Operations in planning and governance.
• Escalate and address infrastructure-related customer and stakeholder concerns.

Agentic ZeroOps

• Define a roadmap to reduce manual operational work through AI-assisted and agentic tooling.
• Identify opportunities to embed AI in monitoring, incident response, and change workflows.
• Build team fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools and determine where autonomous operations are appropriate.
• Balance AI adoption with reliability and governance responsibilities.

What you will have

• 12+ years in infrastructure, platform, or cloud operations, including significant people leadership.
• Track record leading teams of 15+ engineers, with hiring and talent development skills.
• Deep hands-on expertise in AWS and Azure.
• Strong understanding of private cloud and hybrid infrastructure models.
• Experience owning incident management in complex, multi-service environments.
• Track record defining and scaling operational processes, including change governance.
• Cross-functional stakeholder management experience.
• Strong communication skills at strategic and hands-on technical levels.
