Role overview

Electrical design and coordination

• Develops electrical design strategies, execution plans, and technical roadmaps.
• Manages MV, HV, LV, UPS, standby generation, grounding, lightning protection, lighting, small power, and related infrastructure.
• Leads mission-critical designs for availability, redundancy, reliability, and operational resilience.
• Coordinates electrical interfaces with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, ICT, ELV, security, and specialist systems.

Review, delivery and assurance

• Reviews and approves deliverables from concept through schematic, detailed design, IFC, and as-built stages.
• Conducts technical reviews, design audits, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Monitors consultant performance, deliverables, schedules, and milestones; establishes engineering standards, specifications, and guidelines.
• Supports value engineering while protecting reliability, maintainability, and operational performance.

Procurement and project execution

• Reviews technical submissions, equipment specifications, vendor offers, and shop drawings to support procurement.
• Provides engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and handover.
• Coordinates with project management, procurement, construction, operations, commissioning teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors.

Leadership and improvement

• Identifies technical risks and design conflicts and implements mitigation measures.
• Leads, mentors, coaches, and develops engineering teams; supports recruitment, performance management, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
• Promotes innovation, sustainability, energy efficiency, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Project Management is preferred.
• At least 15 years of electrical engineering design and project delivery experience, including 7–10 years leading teams on hyperscale, mission-critical, or large infrastructure projects.
• Requires proven delivery of complex data centre projects from concept through commissioning and extensive knowledge of mission-critical power systems.
• Requires experience coordinating consultants, utilities, contractors, manufacturers, and vendors and supporting procurement, construction administration, commissioning, and integrated systems testing.
• Requires thorough knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS, and local authority requirements, plus leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
