Design Coordinator

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities across disciplines and review drawings, specifications, and documents for consistency.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, discrepancies, and technical issues with project stakeholders.
• Monitor deliverables and submissions against project schedules.
• Maintain drawings, revisions, RFIs, submittals, approvals, and correspondence.
• Review shop drawings and technical submissions; coordinate comments with relevant disciplines.
• Participate in coordination meetings and prepare or track action items.
• Communicate design changes to stakeholders and coordinate BIM models or potential clashes where applicable.
• Follow project specifications, applicable standards and codes, and client requirements; support technical issue resolution.
• Coordinate with site teams so approved designs are understood and implemented.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant design coordination experience, preferably in construction or engineering projects.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating multiple engineering disciplines.
• Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills; ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Preferred experience and skills

• GCC/Qatar project experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM/design coordination software is advantageous.
• Preferred skills include design review, drawing and document control, BIM coordination, clash detection, and technical problem-solving.
• Consultant and contractor coordination, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks are listed as preferred skills.
