Role overview

Profit and performance

• Review sales, operations, and digital performance weekly to identify priorities and actions.
• Improve availability and cost controls through excellent processes.
• Deliver agreed KPIs and support store sales and profit.

People leadership

• Support team engagement through effective communication, appreciation, and respect.
• Foster an inclusive culture where team members can perform at their best.
• Upskill colleagues through development resources and on-the-job coaching.
• Manage performance through continuous conversations and established processes.

Store processes and compliance

• Complete a daily store walk and act on customer-facing priorities.
• Provide proactive service in-store and at the doorstep.
• Implement cash handling, security, digital service, legal, health, and safety processes.
• Reduce waste and maintain consistent operational standards.

Leadership duties

• Take responsibility for the store, colleagues, and customers when the Store Manager is absent.
• Plan and prioritise tasks, delegate effectively, and motivate the team.
• Coach colleagues, solve store problems, and make appropriate operational decisions.

Required skills and experience

• Proven experience in retail management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer-focused approach and passion for outstanding service.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Flexibility to work across different stores.
