Role overview

Store performance

• Review sales, operations, and digital performance weekly to identify priorities and improve results.
• Improve product availability and cost control, deliver agreed KPIs, and support sales and profit growth.
• Work through established processes to reduce waste and maintain effective store performance.

Team leadership

• Support team engagement through effective communication, appreciation, and respect.
• Coach and develop colleagues, manage performance conversations, and build team capability.
• Plan and prioritise tasks, delegate effectively, and motivate the team to maintain consistent standards.
• Take responsibility for store operations, colleagues, and customers when the Store Manager is absent.

Customer service and compliance

• Complete a daily store walk and address issues affecting the customer-facing environment.
• Provide proactive service in store and at customers’ doorsteps.
• Implement cash handling, security, digital service, legal compliance, and health and safety procedures.

Required skills and experience

• Proven experience in a retail management role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work at pace, manage priorities, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
• Customer-focused approach and commitment to outstanding service.
• Flexibility to work across different stores.
