About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven

Deputy General Manager

  • to support the leadership and growth of a leading retail furniture business in the UAE.
  • This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, maximizing sales performance, and ensuring a superior customer experience across multiple retail locations.
  • The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, deep retail expertise, and a proven ability to scale business operations in a competitive market.
  • About the requirements:
  • **Business Operations & Leadership:**
  • Support the General Manager in overseeing end-to-end business operations.
  • Execute operational strategies aligned with growth and profitability objectives.
  • Monitor business performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across retail, logistics, warehouse, and customer service.
  • Lead and mentor store managers and department heads
  • **Sales & Commercial Management:**
  • Drive revenue growth through sales strategies and market expansion.
  • Analyze KPIs, customer trends, and market performance.
  • Optimize pricing, promotions, and merchandising initiatives.
  • Build key relationships with customers, developers, suppliers, and corporate clients.
  • Identify opportunities in retail, hospitality, and project sales segments
  • **Retail Store Operations:**
  • Ensure high standards in visual merchandising, service, and operational excellence.
  • Monitor store KPIs such as conversion rates, ATV, and sales productivity.
  • Enhance customer experience and brand positioning.
  • **Supply Chain & Inventory:**
  • Oversee inventory planning and stock optimization.
  • Ensure efficient procurement, warehousing, and product delivery.
  • Improve stock accuracy, turnover, and supply chain efficiency.
  • Implement cost-effective inventory management processes
  • **Financial Management:**
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes.
  • Monitor operational expenses and ensure cost control.
  • Analyze financial and operational reports to guide decision-making.
  • Drive profitability and margin improvement
  • **People Management:**
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
  • **Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws and HR best practices:**

Compliance & Governance

  • About you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail, Supply Chain, or related field
  • MBA or relevant professional qualification is a plus
  • 8–15 years of retail experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong background in furniture, home furnishings, or interior retail sector
  • Proven experience managing multi-store operations in the UAE
  • Strong commercial acumen and track record of revenue growth
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE retail market and consumer trends
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Native English speaker will be an advantage.
