Organization and analytics center

Emirates NBD established an Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence to advance analytics across the organization.

The center aims to deliver business impact through analytics projects and build organization-wide advanced analytics capabilities.

The center helps business units prioritize analytics ideas and pilot and productionize them through cross-functional teams.

Role purpose

The data scientist scopes, designs, and implements machine-learning models for business use cases.

The role works with business and technical teams to create big data applications using structured and unstructured data.

The data scientist takes end-to-end responsibility for model delivery, testing, and maintenance.

Model and project delivery

  • Design and implement machine-learning models for business initiatives and objectives.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business translators, data warehousing, and data engineering teams.
  • Design data architecture and experiment with machine-learning techniques.
  • Test and maintain analytical models to improve efficiency and respond to business needs.
  • Contribute to the advanced analytics project roadmap with business units.

Communication and team contribution

  • Help business translators communicate the design, function, and output of analytical models and solutions.
  • Mentor junior colleagues in executing their duties and developing professionally.
  • Share knowledge internally and at meetups or conferences, and help plan team cultural initiatives.

Role expectations

  • Take responsibility for end-to-end machine-learning model delivery, including ongoing testing and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with business and data teams on analytics applications.
  • Document reusable code and pursue technical development and learning goals.
