Opportunity
Data Engineer in the Data and Analytics Group within Technology Services Partners.
The role is for 12 months and reports to the Senior Director, Data Platform Delivery and Engineering.
The position may be remote; office locations are available in Vancouver and Toronto.
Role responsibilities
- Contribute to solution design, implementation, and data engineering project delivery.
- Improve data-system performance, capacity, and scalability through architecture and design principles.
- Determine data requirements and system impacts with clients, stakeholders, and data engineers.
- Support cloud viability analysis, project planning, and estimation.
- Create and maintain solution documentation and diagrams.
- Implement data and analytics practices and maintain Azure cloud applications and services.
- Collaborate with Development, Security, and TSP Ops to deploy data and software products on-premise and in the cloud.
Experience and qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, technical diploma, or applicable software development work experience.
- Required knowledge of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
- At least 3 years of data engineering or software development experience; technical leadership or mentorship exposure is ideal.
- Experience designing highly available, scalable, resilient cloud-native and non-cloud solutions that meet enterprise service-level, security, and business continuity needs.
- Hands-on experience with Azure platform services, including Integration Services, Application and Data Services, Azure Active Directory, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
- Understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and container deployment models, configuration, and migration.
